Vexillologists

     Weekly Review: January 08th 2004

It looks about over for the Vexillologists going into week 17 of the first half of this season.  Sitting eight games back of first place with just a couple weeks to go, there is little hope for winning this half.  But then again there is always the next half to look forward too.  This week they made one final push against the last place team, Rachel & Us.

GAME : 1

Game one was a close one all the way with Fegley leading the charge, matching his average.  Brett held up his end shooting well over his average.  Lindsay and Mike evened out the middle tying each other, both with their middle games of the week.  After all the dust settled the flag studiers emerge victorious by 22 pins.

    SCORES:
  • Brett Bieber-       167
  • Lindsay Runkel-  108
  • Mike Runkel-      108
  • John Fegley-        178

GAME : 2

Game two wasn't taken by a landslide either, as a team the Vexillologists shot their worst game of the week.  With Brett leading the team with his highest game of the week, defeating Fegley who shot his worst game of the week.  Lindsay edged out Mike by a mere two pins, both were under average.  The team once again triumphed this time by 34 pins.

  • Brett Bieber-       157
  • Lindsay Runkel-  143
  • Mike Runkel-        97
  • John Fegley-        168

GAME : 3

The results of the last game are unknown being that all four of the Vexillologists bowled out and the opposing team neglected to write down their scores.  It is assumed that the Vexillologists won this one.  Fegley bounced back from his poor second game and shot his high of the week.  Mike edged out Brett to finish second among teammates, also defeating Lindsay and taking the total series.

    SCORES:

  • Brett Bieber-        122
  • Lindsay Runkel-   112
  • Mike Runkel-       127
  • John Fegley-       194

RECAP

With sweeping the Vexillologists climbed back above .500% and with in six games of first place. Mike started to defend his dwindling lead over Lindsay which is now widened to three games (34-31-3). It is possible for the Vexillologists to take first place but would need to win-out and get some help from the top two teams.
