Vexillologists

     Weekly Review: January 22nd 2005

      MCELC

After last week's stomping, the Vexillologists took a commanding lead over this young season.  This week they got the chance to make an even bigger lead as the took on the second place team, Strike Force.  Mike Runkel came down with a bug of some sort and was unable to bowl this week and his scores will be represented by his average minus ten pins.

GAME : 1

Game one set the high water mark for the second half of the season.  With every present member of the team breaking their average by astounding amounts overall they defeated their previous high by thirty-five pins.  Fegley lead the charge with his high game of the week and Brett followed him up, just missing 200.  Lindsay also a solid game as the team took game one by 112 pins.

  • Mike Runkel-        91
  • John Fegley-        213

GAME : 2

Game two was much of the same as the team broke the record that they had set the previous game.  Brett shot his highest game of the season and beat out Fegley who hit 200 once again.  Lindsay also shot her highest game of the season which helped to improve the team's scratch total by fifty pins over their first game.  Needless to say the team won game two, this time by 110 pins.

  • Brett Bieber-       225
  • Lindsay Runkel-  155
  • Mike Runkel-        91
  • John Fegley-        200

GAME : 3

However, the third game could not top the second.  Each member of the team shooting their low game of the week, but still over average.  Fegley was high while just under 200, he still managed to crack 600 for series.  Brett finished off his high series of the season as did Lindsay, who took all four from her absent brother.  The team failed to complete the sweep, with the third game loss of twenty-three pins

    SCORES:

  • Brett Bieber-        169
  • Lindsay Runkel-   121
  • Mike Runkel-         91
  • John Fegley-       188

RECAP

Lindsay has done it!  She has come back from the huge deficit that she had started with after the first few weeks of slumping.  She now has the season lead of head to head games over her brother (38-35-3).  Since the half of the league games were not reported in time for publication due to the weather situation striking the area.  So the best we can predict, the Vexillologists now have a four game lead over the second place team which is currently unknown
